June 1, 2024

Eid ul-Adha Mubarak in advance to all our customers!

Every year our halal butcher at Taqwa Foods processes fresh qurbani cuts — and every year we sell out faster than expected. Here is your guide to ordering early and making the most of your meat.

Ordering your Eid meat

Call us at (905) 239-7592 ahead of time to reserve your order. We carry:

  • Whole goat and lamb (fresh, same-day processing)
  • Beef — whole, half, or quarter portions
  • Chicken — whole birds or ready-to-cook pieces

All animals are hand-slaughtered, 100% zabiha halal, and processed on-site by our butcher.

Recommended cuts for Eid dishes

Dish Best cut
Nihari Beef shank (with marrow bone)
Haleem Beef brisket + wheat mix
Karahi Bone-in lamb or goat shoulder
BBQ / tikka Leg steaks or ribs
Paya Trotters (lamb or beef)

Storing your meat

  • Fresh meat should be refrigerated and used within 2 days or frozen immediately.
  • Portion into 500 g freezer bags before freezing — it thaws faster.
  • We sell freezer bags and airtight containers in-store.

Everything else for Eid cooking

Don't forget — we stock full Shan Nihari, Haleem, and Korma masala packs, Falak basmati rice, desi ghee, and fresh produce to complete your Eid spread.
